Love and Pain, Munch

In three years, he created six very similar works, of which this is one of the last. Subsequently, it was called "Vampire" or in Norwegian "Vampyr", because it seems that the woman is biting her companion's neck. However, this was not part of the artist's original idea. Many believe it was named so, and became very popular, due to his friend, the poet Stanisław Przybyszewski.
Experts agree that the main symbol of the oil painting is feminine sensuality imposing itself over male reality, which in this case can only submit to her designs.

Currently, it is located in the Munch Museum in Norway.
